Early Career Recognition
Congratulations to Northeastern Faculty who have received early career recognitions such as the National Science Foundation Career Development Award or the Office of Navel Research Young Investigator Program (YIP). Both awards are very prestigous and granted to the most promising young faculty. The NSF Career Award requires an integrated research and education plan. More information can be found at NSF: http://www.nsf.gov/career. If you are thinking of writing a Career grant you may want to talk with one of our recent awardees to learn how they integrated research and education and how they interpreted proposal reviews for successful revisions. A complete list of faculty who have received the NSF Career award is available.
Office of Navel Research, Young Investigator Awards, 2007
Congratulations to Professors Purnima Ratilal and Nian Sun both of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department who have received the prestigious Office of Naval Research (ONR) Young Investigator Awards in 2007. Congratulations!
Presidential Recognition
Congratulations to Professor Becky Rosengaus (Biology) who received a Presidental Early Career Award from President Bush at the White House on July 26, 2006. Less then 1% of faculty who apply for the prestigous NSF Career Award receive Presidential recognition. More information about this great honor to Becky and to Northeastern is available at the Northeastern press release. Press releases are also available at the National Science Foundation and the Office for Science and Technology Policy.
